Still Counting

Still Counting

I’ve been traveling (and then catching up) so my posts have been few, but I’m still counting the gifts…not the gifts that I want, but the all the many, many gifts that I already have.

  • Hospitality and friendship
  • Hiking in beautiful locations – awe over the creative beauty that our Father has lavished on this world
  • The start of cooler weather with sunshine remaining; hints that the advent of fall is upon us
  • Cuddly cats on a chilly evening
  • Laughter
  • A beautiful new cake plate
  • Fun times with friends – festivals, BBQs and just hanging out enjoying each other
  • Specifically answered prayer and the way the Spirit speaks to prepare, direct and re-orient
  • Possibilities and the confidence that the God “who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will” has my life firmly in His hands (Eph 1:11b)
  • Phone calls with friends – shared life, shared prayers and shared walk in the Spirit
  • Challenging and thought provoking sermons, books and conversations – God weaving together many themes, from many different directions to continuously teach me more about Himself
  • The joy of memorization, the constant reminder of the Word that so encourages and amazes me “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.” Eph. 1:4
  • Worship in Song and Truth
  • The privilege of going to the House of the Lord and gathering as a community to worship
  • Slowing down and breathing in this very moment – a gift of grace

  1. Rachelle, I’m sorry I haven’t been here for so long. From the beginning of the month, from the last post Sara wrote in August, and the subsequent posts by her friends, I could read the handwriting on the wall. I’ve been thinking only of her, and reading only her blog. I’m sorry. I was gone for good reason and I’m now just starting to get back to reading the blogs I heart – and I heart YOURS! And today from your thank you list – out of many I hearted – I picked the last one as my favorite – a chance to breathe, be in the moment, be thankful, see the wind blow through the trees, have it remind me of the Spirit of God, and rest. in. grace. I’m just beginning to breathe after a month that was crushing. God bless you Michelle.
